Local DJ's set to spin Perth into a music frenzy

Unique DJ contest Red Bull Thre3Style is back for its second year, providing a series of events guaranteed to set dancefloors alight. Punters in Perth can expect an unmissable night this Wednesday 20th June, witnessing six of the best local DJs going to head-to-head in the ultimate mixing contest, with free entry. There’s just one key rule: participating DJs must rock the house by playing a selection of at least three genres of music in a 15-minute set!

The competition will be held at the AIR nightclub, where last year’s state champion Junior will face stiff competition from local crowd pleasers Zeke, Wasteland, Klean Kicks, Ace Basik and Rekab. Headlining the event to get the crowd pumping are Australia’s own mash-up maestros the Yacht Club DJs.

Competing DJs will be judged on track selection, technical skills, originality, creativity and the ability to work the crowd, with the best DJ talent in each state pocketing a cool $1,000 prize! They’ll also take their place in the national final against leading local DJs from other states - plus last year’s winner DJ Perplex - after Red Bull Thre3Style qualifiers have also raised the roof in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane.

The national final will be held at the Metro Theatre, Sydney on Friday 10th August, with headline act Z-Trip also taking to the decks. The overall winner will then go on to represent Australia in the Red Bull Thre3Style World Final in September in Chicago!

Red Bull Thre3Style 2012 is set to send Australia’s music fans spinning into orbit - so don’t miss your chance to be part of one of the year’s craziest, coolest music events!
