FILM SCRIPT READING: "Love Handles" written by Sarah Smith & Paul Bennett
from an original idea by Andrew Lewis

A risk-averse teacher's world is turned upside down when on the night
of his wife's surprise fortieth birthday party she tells him she wants a divorce.

PAC Script Lab’s next free film script reading at Subiaco Arts Centre on Wednesday 25 July  at 6pm will beLOVE HANDLES” by Sarah Smith and Paul Bennett from an original idea by WA Screen Academy director Andrew Lewis who will direct this reading.  Accompanied by wine and nibbles, here is your opportunity to get involved in the development of another West Aussie film at the script stage.

What starts as a fun idea by school teacher Cliff to throw a surprise fortieth birthday party for his wife Helena turns into a disaster when, just before arriving at the weekend guest house in the country, she tells him she doesn’t want to be married to him anymore. With guests inside waiting to scream “surprise” Helena has to keep up the charade until Cliff can’t take it any longer and tells the assembled friends and family that the marriage is over and that Helena is sleeping with somebody else. The question is who?
